Yes they do. It's the most common cause of misunderstanding between the sexes!

A large part of it is more biological than we think! Hormones like estrogen and testosterone have a profound effect on behavior (ever know a g*y man who starts taking estrogen pills and told by his friends that he has started acting more girly?) It's not just the estrogen and the testosterone but a whole lot of other hormones and factors. The structure of men's and women's brains are also different, because they evolved to have different functions.

A whole plethora of books have been written about this, and they do ring true. Try reading "Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus" and "Why Men Never Remember and Women Never Forget." You'll get lots of insight.

I'd have to say, yes. We have different mindsets. I'm not quite sure why, but it seems so.

Men and women think differently but aim for the same thing.

Men and women think alike.  It is only how they process these thoughts that they are different.  Women are emotional creatures. In the event of making decisions or judgments, they sometimes are swayed by their feelings or allow emotions to interfere or intercede.  Men, on the other hand, are more analytical, factual.  They don't allow emotions to cloud their decisions or judgments.  

Women sometimes take a while to carry out what they plan or think unlike men who go straight for their goals once they have decided.  No dilly-dallying for them.

Example:  A man sees a shirt he likes and buys it.  A girl sees a dress she likes but is oscillating on the decision whether to buy it or not.   Both are on the same wavelength - liking a shirt/dress however the similarity stops there.
