  1. The groom buys the rings unless it is a double ring ceremony then the bride buys the groom's ring.  The groom/his family pay for the drinks at the reception and for the flowers the bride and bridesmaids carry. Flowers for the church or anything else is the bride/her family.  The bride/her family are responsible for the wedding reception as in hall, food, music etc.

The bride/her family pay for the wedding dress and everything that goes with it like hair make up shoes etc.  the Maid of Honor and all the bride's maids pay for their own dresses ( although the bride picks them she does not pay for them) their shoes, hair etc.

The bride/her family are responsible for transportation for the bride and brides maids and MoH to get to the wedding and from there to the reception.  The groom is responsible for the transportation of himself and his new wife at the end of the reception and everyone else, bride's maids, groom's men, best man, Maid of Honor are all responsible for getting themselves home after the reception.  Hope that helps you out.

  2. Really, the bride's father is suppose to pay for the wedding and the groom the reception, but ppl aren't into traditional weddings anymore, they just go w/ the amount of money they have and don't care who pitch in to help. Don't base ur wedding off anyone else, everyone have diff situations!

  3. When I got married, my parents paid for everything other than the rings.

It doesn't really matter who pays for it, you do it how ever you want.

  4. Traditionally, the bride's parents would pay for the wedding and the groom's parents would pay for the rehearsal dinner.

However, many couples now pay for their own weddings, sometimes with assistance from both sets of parents. In this case, they might put all the money into an account and draw from it, or they might divvy up who is responsible for booking/finding/paying for what - the bride might buy her own dress and shoes, the flowers, and the part of the catering, the groom might pay for his tux, the DJ, and the other part of the catering.

There is no rule. It depends on what your financial situation is, and who is contributing.
