What does this tell us about "groupies" and their usual gender? If groupies are more likely to spawn from one gender over the other- what can we now to a degree infer about that gender and their impression(ability) ?

I think your core question is "why are most groupies women?"

My guess is that groupie women have a better chance of getting laid than groupie men.   And, well, getting laid by the star is the main reason they are there.

A close second reason is that most women are not afraid of powerful men, whereas most men are afraid of powerful women.

I don't think men have the tendency to "flock".  lol

Women, however, do.  Perhaps it's more of a a "hen" thing. lol
