I was going to put my tv on top of a microwave to save space, but I heard that the tv will get fried if I do that. If not, can my roommate put her radio on top?

  1. no, your microwave should not cause problems because they are required to contain all radiation produced, the tv or radio may get a bit of interference, but if it fries then you have a leaking microwave which would be putting your heath at risk.

  2. You just have to be careful of not blocking any air vents on the microwave or tv.

As for 'frying other appliances, no, or they would fry you also. Waves are not supposed to exit the microwave and if they do then it needs repair.

  3. Short answer is no your tv will not be fried, there are very stringent regulations regarding shielding, and escaping radiation. However you may get static or lines running through your tv screen while using the microwave.
