Do misogynists and misandrists reflect their hatred of women/men in the choice of gender of their pets?

Question

For example, would a misandrist insist upon caring for a female cat only?

Would a misogynist insist upon caring for a male dog only?

I realize this is unscientific, but you might know people like this, and I wonder if there exists a correlation across species or if it is limited to human behavior.

My ex-FIL based the gender of his pets (all male) on the fact that it is cheaper to desex (neuter) a male animal than a female.

He was a misogynist of rare skill and determination, but I do think the financial thing really was his major motive, because he was also a total cheapskate.

I've known people who only wanted a pet of one gender or the other for different reasons, but I don't think any of them were misandrist or misogynist.

I don't really think so, generally.  I've known a few guys who more or less hated women who had female dogs.  My ex gf who came out of the closet and is now dating a bona-fide man-disliking bulldyke got a male kitten.

My guess would be that the pet isn't threatening to them like a person of the opposite s*x.

I have two female cats, two male dogs, and one female dog.

My fish I divided equally, giving half male names, and half female names.
