Do misogynists really think they are "punishing" feminists by refusing to marry us?

Witness this "detached-from-reality and mental hygiene" rant of a male poster:

"Lets be clear what IMBRA really is. It is Fascism with a Feminist face on it. It is an attempt by Whining US Women to forestall the rejection of them as Wives by US Men. In 2005 one in five US marriages was to a Foreign Woman. If the current trend continues in just 20 years half of US Marriages will be to Foreign Women. Half. This information violates the Natural Rights of Men. It is FASCISM. And an outright labeling of US Men as abusers and s*x Criminals. US Men should in fact reject any US Women who support such Laws, even going so far as to Divorce them. Refuse to have any children with such Women."

Obviously, somebody is really tweaked by having to treat his wife like a human, and is REALLY irked that she might go into the marriage with her eyes open. I don't blame him for being bitter. Were I the potential wife, I'd run, too.

How is what he said related to his being "tweaked by having to treat his wife like a human?"  He doesn't mention a wife does he?  Aside from the elaborate rhetoric about fascism, the essence of his so-called rant is that it is wrong for all men who are considering marrying someone from another country to be viewed as de-facto criminals.  It is really irritating when assumptions are made about women, so yea, I'm sure men might be a little concerned about this type of legislation.  Their motivations for marrying outside the country are nobody's business; implementation of a law like this should be everybody's business.  Once privacy is allowed to be invaded, its meaning shifts.

Anthropologists anticipate a bifurcation of the human species into a larger intelligent species and, no pun intended, an ugly small stupid troll-like species.  One cannot help but see how men marrying weak, lesser intelligent, less willful women generation after generation in some families will breed those bloodlines downward.

It's funny how nothing in that statement suggests dating less intelligent women, submissive women, anything hateful about women. It appears that all the answers assumes this. It's truly amazing how much hate one can have to be biased with knee-jerk reactions that are not even relevant to the subject. It was an attack on IMBRA.

I'm sorry that I don't see being against hating men by labeling them evil as mysogynistic.. if you ladies promote hate against men, then I will be against hate regardless of what you call me(I didn't write the quote in the question though).

Most men would probably support these laws anyway. It's only men that can't get a wife in their own country by normal means that have any need to buy one. And it's only men that have something to hide that would be worried about these laws.

The entire international on-line dating is ridiculous. It is one thing to live in a foreign country and meet a woman that you eventually marry after dating for a while. It is another thing to go to a website and import a wife without them having any knowledge of who you are. The latter is shady and sleazy.

I cannot find verification for the "1 in five marriages by American men are to foreign women." The only other place that said such a thing is a men's rights message board, and it said that 12%, or 1 in 8 marriages by American men are to foreign women. It did not site in sources either. Hmm....

The truth of the matter is these men look for women in places  where women are literally forced into abject submission, so of course these women appear to be more meek and willing to please than women who come from places where there is greater gender equality. In these foreign women's home countries, many times they would have been beaten or killed if they behaved otherwise. However like it or not, many times when they bring such women to the US, they assimilate into our culture and (how dare they!) demand equality.

Anyway, I do not consider myself a feminist, rather an egalitarian, but I am an opinionated American woman who demands equality for everyone regardless of gender. I had no trouble landing myself an American man who wants to marry me. Maybe these guys (who are obviously single and bitter about it) look to foreign women because no American woman would touch them with a 10 foot pole?

That's a hard one.  I guess IMBRA are just making sure mail order/foreign brides are safe with the man they marry after having some foreign women become murdered and alot being abused.   And I am definately NOT saying that all American men would do such a thing, not at all.

If background checks will keep foreign women safe and men who are genuine are happy knowing that the woman will be safe(via a background check), then why is there a problem?

Do they have something to hide?  

Employers do background checks and no-one cares, so why not with foreign brides?  

Marrying a foreign bride is more of a business proposition than love for some of these men(yes, you are marrying them for their submissiveness, not love) and they would also insist on pre-nups, so a little thing like having the man checked out isn't going to be the end of the world.

They may think so, at least this imagination may help them to rescue their self-esteem. In fact many of them fail to find a woman who is ready to accept their male guidance and lead.

They are punishing themselves because they renounce to profit from wisdom, skills and abilities of an equal and confident female partner.

The problem is two-sided however:  Also the number of intelligent, well-educated women is increasing who refuse to marry, because many of them are still looking for a man who deserves respect.  To cope with the problem, well-educated women (academic) who are outnumbering men today, will have to get accustomed to marry down. And their potential partners will have to learn to accept it.

Refusing to marry will in no way resolve the problem of educational inequality between women and men. It is only a flight from realities.

Women should have thought about punishing misogynists centuries ago by not marrying them.  Women had to be obedient and abused into submission but we didn't call it facisim.

Foreign women from male dominated cultures are more easier to beat into submission so therefore misogynists love this sort of doormat female.  Wipe your feet on her and toss her away should she even look at a feminist article.

You feminists don't treat us men like humans but rather as neanderthals so why should we even be remotely inclined to treat you as human beings?
