Do mixed race literally means half white?

Question

When I see other people says that they're mixed race, they usually just say they're half (black/asian/indian/latinos), so I presume that majority of mixed race in America are half white?

I don't ever say I'm part "white," I say I'm Vietnamese-French. White is a very vague term. But I do agree that a lot of people with mixed ethnicities are usually part "white."

If a person says they are "mixed race", then it is an ethnic person with an "IDENTITY CRISIS".  (Yes that is true!)  After all how many white people do you hear say "I am of mixed-race"?  Most of the time we just say we are "WHITE".  WTF??

if they only say "i'm half _____" and then say one non-white race they usually do mean they are half white as well. most people who are mixed but non-white usually say both races.

The majority of Mixed-race people are half-white half-asian, next are half-white half-black, and then other kinds of mixes. Half-Whites are the most common.

I don't know about the majority, but mixed race certainly doesn't refer to people who are half white only. Why can't somebody be half black, half asian? or half asian half latino? Yes America has lots of white people, but I wouldn't say the majority of mixed race people are part white. It could be, I certainly don't know any statistics or anything, but it's definitely not something I'd assume, cause there are so many races in America besides white people.

Mixed race doesn't specify the proportions, someone who's 10% black and 90% asian is just as much mixed race as someone who's 50% black and 50% asian.

Not all the time, I know some Mexican-blacks and some Asian-blacks. But most of the time it is Black-white or insert race here (   )-white

Not necessarily.  They can be Black/Latino (blatino) or Black/Asian (blasian).

It can be a mix of any two (or more) races.  But, yeah, if someone said they were half X, but didn't specify the other half, I would probably assume they were half white as well.  But being mixed race doesn't necessarily imply they are part caucasian.

Mixed race doesn't mean half it just means mixed. In my opinion there TWO types of "mixed" people:

1.Relevant admixture(25% or above)

2.Notable admixture(10 to 20%)

Uh, no. Mixed race can be black/asian, white/black, etc. Anything with more than one race.
