I am not surprised to find that many Jewish people along with Arab folks can trace their ancestry back via DNA to a common ancester 3,000 years ago or more.  One must realize that Abraham (Abram) with wife Hagar, an Egyptian woman, are the parents of the Arabs, while Abraham and Sarah (Sarai) were the parents of the Jewish nation.  Both peoples have; not only the common ancester Abram, but also the ancester Shem, one of Noah's sons, from which comes Semite...the common name for all peoples coming from the Middle East.  Bedouins (nomadic Arabs) are referred to as Hashemites, which means "coming from Shem."  So it is no surprise to me that Palestinians and Jews can sometimes trace their lineage to a common ancester with a common Y chromosome.  However; I wonder if Iraqis can trace back to Babylonians, and if Iranians may be able to trace back to Persians.  I should think they could if we had DNAsamples from these ancient civilizations.
