  1. Of course. It's a part of their history.

  2. They are children of ancient greeks and romans.

Greeks after Alexander's death settled in other parts of Asia and Eastern Europe.

During Cleopatra's reign too, Greeko-Egyptians settled in Rome and other parts of Asia like Persia.

Thus they all must be descendants of Greeko-Roman ancestors.

  3. Its only a mythe!...

  4. I'm sure modern greeks had some sort of connection with ancient greeks. lol. Italians...yeah, Rome and Romans...wow. They're still on the same piece of land.

  5. The Italians do not, but the Greeks do.  They speak a very similar language with the exact same, unique alphabet.

  6. As far as being direct decendents and sharing genes, the European continent has expereinced a wealth of new cultures warring, trading, and breeding with each other and the people of today can hardly claim to be of a certain ancient group as far as DNA goes.

However, some cultural models still exist.  For example, the Irish and others often site Celtic roots due to their Gaelic family of languages, but even they were mixed first with the earlier inhabitants of the island and later with the Vikings and other invaders.  In the case of the Greeks, the language is very nearly the same as from thousands of years past and other cultural practices such as food are similar as well.  Italy is the product of a long and sorted history, but even though Latin is now rarely spoken (unless you are in the Vatican), the power of the Roman Empire can still be seen not only in Italian life and culture but in the the foundation of the organization of much of Europe.

  7. yep, they live on the same dirt...
