I have a pregnant molly and I know the time is coming for me to put her in the baby tank (not a breeding tank, just a seperate 5g tank), and that tank is away from all other fish, will she get lonely or stressed? This is my first time with mollies and I don't know what to do. I want to make this as easy as possible on her. HELP!!

  1. I always think that if any kind of living creature is alone that it would do better with a companion. But that's just me.

  2. No, she won't get stressed if you leave her alone for a day or two. But if you leave her in there for longer, she will get stressed.

What I would do is put her in the separate tank for 1-2 days, and if there are still no babies, put her back with the other fish for a day. Then, put her back in the separate tank the next day and so on. I don't know if it will work.

Or another option is to leave her in the tank with the other fish and once the babies come out, move all the big fish into the other tank. I think that is a little harder though. Anyway, give it a try and I hope this info helped!

  3. keep her in the other tank until she gives birth, she will be fine for about a week

but don't keep switching tanks back and forth or it will stress her out and she will hold out on giving birth

  4. molies and other livebearers all like to be together.  I think if you have a molly get 2 more livebearers at least!
