Do mood rings break in cold water?

i want to wear a mood ring to the springs but the water is like 72 degrees which is freezing. will it break if i wear it in? cuz i heard they will break if you put them in the freezer. and by break i mean not change colors anymore and jsut stay black.

72 degrees is fine. its not freezing. its like normal for pools if theyre not heated. i dont think you go swimming a lot? lol. i live in florida and a lot of the pools arent heated anyway for some reason and its around there and seems really cold but after a few minutes you get used to it and it feels warm lol. freezing is like 50 degrees it should be ok. but if youre really worried about it then just dont wear it

Never heard of them breaking but I'd imagine severe cold/hot would make them less liable to work like they should
