Do morel mushrooms grow after they pop up?

Question

If I found a morel mushroom that was like an inch or two tall, but dont pick it. If the mushroom has continuous water and sunlight will it grow any more. If not please explain if you know the real reason why.

yes, i was always told that a they pop up as the size you find them, but one day i had gone mushroom hunting early and i found a lot of little white mushrooms about the size of my pinky nail. and when i looked real close at it it look exactingly like a morel mushroom. so I took a shovel out and dug the ground up and took it home. i had tried to grow them but they died on me at home, i did leave a few in the woods which i kept an eye on and yes they did grow.  although you should pick the mushroom if  it starts to get brown, that means it has reached its growing point and is dieing it will also be dry.

Yes, they will continue to grow, when they pop up they are usually very small and will usually grow anywhere from an inch to 3 inches in only a few days. I have found morels along my driveway that were eight inches tall and about 3 inches in diameter, they seem to have appeared in no time at all.
