  1. Thank you all for telling us what we should do.

Some states illegally imposed helmets on the people, even tho the people voted not ot have them.

When you get hit by a car ot truck on a bike, the only thing a helmet does is make it so you can have a open casket funeral.

  2. No. 20 states require all riders to wear helmets

  3. No, not all, but riders should wear protection anyway. It's better than ending up as a vegetable.

  4. You'll have to check on the state requirement.  Most do and some are still FREE.  Although, I am seeing majority will require helmet.

  5. Maybe this will help you:

  6. Its about 50/50.  I think it should be the riders choice, and people should keep their opinions to themselves. If I choose not to wear one I don't want to hear your "vegetable" etc. stories. If I choose to wear one I don't want to hear the other side of the story. When you reach a certain age you can decide for yourself,  you don't need Big Brother telling you what to do.

  7. Sadly not all states.

I've been riding since 82 and I would not be here if I didn't wear my helmet.

Sadly people think it is about liberty and fight it.

    Good Luck...

  8. There is a web site that has the answer to this question, here it is below. Hope that helps.

  9. Ye, most do, but I do know for a fact that NH does not. Check out the Dept of Transporation website for each state. Also, military is required to wear helmets even if the state does not.

  10. I was really surprised at how MANY states don't require them. I have been almost everywhere in my years and seen bikers riding. I seldom see any without helmets. Common sense would dictate their use. They may make it easier on your family for the "open casket", but in the event you SURVIVE the crash.....it may just mean the difference between a drool cup and a fairly normal life! States don't IMPOSE law, the majority rules when it is put to a vote and the lawmakers vote the people's way unless the people haven't an opinion. Then the lawmakers vote their conscience. A good question though. It was very informative to read the link!
