Do most elderly people feel good to others much better than they were younger?

I'm not sure if I understand your question correctly, but I think that when we grow older we understand better what others have to deal with.  Hindsight is a fabulous thing.  It helps me to look back on my mistakes and failures, and reminds me that everyone has a bit of both.

jeannie kathleen - I want to answer your question but I can't figure out what you mean for sure, unless do mean are we more broad mined or do you mean we have more compassion.

For me, I care more and I'm more broad minded now that I'm older.

I think I am more tolerant of people because over the years I have come to  better understand what causes people to act the way they do.  Things happen in life that are just out of your control and it's frustrating.  

But understanding and wanting to deal with it are two different things.  I have worked with the public for over 40 years and I have had enough. I'm ready to become a hermit and live quietly with my cats.

If I have read your question correctly, I am ashamed to say that I have become more intolerant of others.  Because of my age (62)  I expect everyone to know what I know and I get a bit intolerant of people not being able to use their common sense.  I know this is wrong and I have no right to be intolerant but, it is the way I am.

If I understand correctly, I would say older people have more good will to others since they have "mellowed" with the years. Not that we cant get cranky but you do start to weed out what is important to get "upset" over and what isn't.

I would really like to have no ill will against anyone but it's not always possible. I am working on it though.

Not that we didn't care when we were younger, but now we can honestly say "been there, done that"....and truly be more understanding and empathetic to others.
