  1. I just had a second interview yesterday. I seriously though I was going to get hired on the spot but at the end of the interview he said "I'm not going to hire on the spot. I like time to think."

I don't know what that means but I'm not sure if they always hired on the spot.

When I interviewed for starbucks I got hired on the first interview.

  2. Not necessarily. For you to have a second interview means that they are narrowing down the best of the bunch. There may be another interview to pick the final 2/3 candidates that will come in for the final interview. Every company is different. Oh, if you don't already know this -- under NO circumstances are you to ask about money until you are offered the position. That only shows you are more interested in the pay than in the position itself. That could cost you the job if you ask before then.

  3. A second interview is a sign of serious interest in the job candidate.  You may be offered a position on the spot, but not being offered at that time doesn't mean you're out of the running.
