no - it totally depends on the guy and also on whether the guy masturbated the same day before trying to conceive. If he didn't, he gets a better shot at having a good sperm count

Yes, most guys will have good sperm count.  

According to stats, about 25% of couples will have some fertility issue.  Of those couples, 40% of the fertility issue is due to the male partner.  that means only (25% x 40%) = 10% of male (who are couple) will have fertility issues (not necessarily sperm count, could also be sperm morphology, motility, genetics, etc.).  

That still means 90% of men (who are couple) are fertile and probably don't have sperm count issue.

Most guys let loose with millions of sperm at each shot on goal.  These minions endure tremendous losses as they traverse the women's reproductive tract.  It is thought that only 400 sperm actually surround the oocyte at the time of conception.

But sperm count is only one attribute.  If you are not pregant after a year of banging the gong, then you need to see your doc.
