Do most new house sidings fade and how soon?

A lighter color would not show fading as bad as a dark color. So i am trying to pick a color. Thanks everyone!

All house siding will fade. Just some will fade more than others. It doesn't take long to fade. you are able to see a difference within the first 10 years if you hold a piece of new siding next to it.

Vinyl siding may fade faster than other types of siding...

You won't see nearly the fading in masonry products as you would with a vinyl type product.

the vinyl fade more then the aluminum in time

i would think that it would fade being exposed to the elements of sun, snow etc.  maybe about 1 year to fade but not alot
