Question:

Do most people sleepwalk through life? Are most people like zombies?

I think that most people are zombie-like. There are happy zombies and miserable zombies and many in between but they are zombies none-the-less. Someone once said that the unevaluated life is a life not worth living. I agree completely with this. What's your response to my views?

  4. yes the matrix has them

  5. Well, this question triggers me in a few ways.

First thing I think is "jeez how judgmental, if there are so many zombies maybe you are one"... but I quickly moved into a place of understanding upon reading the "unevaluated life is a life not worth living".

Great question. Simple put no. Most people don't sleepwalk as I would say that sleepwalking would be akin to something that is not voluntary. I have been a sleepwalker and I never knew I was "walking". I would wake up in the morning and my brother of sister would laugh at me for going into the kitchen and making myself a cornflake sandwich with whipped cream and pickles, sit down and eat a few bites and go back to bed all completely oblivious.

"Zombies" to me mean people who are uninformed and dare I say it but... ignorant. I am sorry but there is no effin excuse for that anymore people... we have access to information now unlike we have ever in the history of mankind.

We have access to a wealth of Spiritual practices we would have had to go to a library and dig around to find anything about if we were lucky, 20 years ago.

Without Spiritual practice, and without being informed and inquisitive about "self" and... without understanding the idea of "we" meaning everyone on the planet, as well as unborn "we's" and in a historical sense... we are many who have come before and have yet to do so and all that, one could be thought of as a zombie.

I look at these "zombies" as an opportunity to show someone love and compassion. I want my life to be an example of a Spiritual practice that works. I do all that I can to simply be a good person, some people notice and then I will talk on it though I offer no unsolicited advice ever.

... So all that to say that I agree, un-SELF-evaluated life is not worth living, but some people don't know where to start.

Sorry to ramble, it is soooo early.

  6. You have a point.  So many people; so unhappy; so alike.

  7. :'( Im not a zombie...

  8. As in Shawn of the Dead? People who do not question purpose or lack of purpose. If you can evaluate life to your own satisfaction then you may well throw off the mental chains. We do have a choice. It is just some people do not realise this. So do they become zombies through choice or by not choosing an alternative? As in happy/sad zombies.

  9. This is awful. What should I do. I have already locked and barricaded the doors and I've got my shotgun ready. Any of those zombies try and get me and they're in for a surprise alright.

Everyone who has not been infected should try and get together to wipe these zombie b******s out. I'm on the roof of some shops now and I'm in contact with someone else across the road. We're using bits of card and magic markers to send messages to each other.

They won't eat my brains... brains....brains...MUST EAT BRAINS... BRAINS...AAARRRGH

  10. I noticed that. They are empty. Christ fills that empty space. Drugs will not fill it. Alcohol will not fill it. Money will not fill it. Material possessions will not fill it, and they don't understand why they are so empty. It's sad.

  11. Yes, most people are zombies. But I disagree that the unevaluated like is not worth living. A great many people are very happy in their unevaluated lives. And will never know until it is way too late that they should have checked in a rear view mirror just what they'd been doing.

  12. I agree that most people glide through life on a very basic easy level.I do not want to evaluate life all the time however. To quote Campbell people dont want the meaning of life as much as the experience of being alive.

  13. no juts before 10am....bladder wakes me up when im not thru sleeping....then my brain does too much thinking ugh

  14. Yep most people waste the gift called life, like theirs a decent alternative?

  15. I call these type of people `cabbages`.   Such people seem to me to live on the `surface` of life and never delve  deeper.

But on the other hand `ignorance` is said to be bliss  - and delving too much can be disturbing.

So being `cabbage like` is not necessarily a criticism - I`m sometimes jealous of `em.

  16. Read the book ,"The Master Game", by Robert S. DeRopp.I think you will find it interesting. According to him 99.99% of the population is in a state of somnambulism, sleep walking and not living in the present. There are two states of awareness above this, self actualization and finally Cosmic consciousness. It is the best lay explanation of the path to greater awareness that I have ever read.
