Question:

Do most young children ask for...?

Does your child/children aged 3-12 ask for a younger brother or sister? I hear more and more little children asking for another sibling. Is this true in your case? Your friends? A relatives? Reason I ask is because when my daughter turns 5 or so, I wonder if she'll ask for another sibling. It would be heartbreaking to me if she asked and we were done having kids. Anyone else feel the same? Thank you so much!

  1. I'm don't quite understand why it would be heartbreaking. I mean, it is YOUR decision whether or not you want to have more kids, not your daughter's. Since she'd be too young to understand why she can't have a sibling, you could say, "Honey, we just want to love you" or the like.

  2. My children ask "Please no more babies". I am a mother of nine children.

  3. If I had a nickle for every time my youngest asked for a sibling I would be a rich lady! I had her at 45 so it was a non-issue......but I do wish I could have had one more. Her older siblings were out of the house or in college when she was born so she has been raised (almost) like an only child.

  4. my mum had me when she was 16 and she still lived with my nan and my auntie who was 12 apparently i used to beg them all to have a baby finally my mother is pregnant .... shame im 17 now

  5. My son wanted a little brother or sister when he was 5.  Surprisingly enough for him he was about to get one!  I think it's totally normal so don't be surprised if it happens.  It's ok if you are done having kids.  She can't have everything she asks for, right?  ;-)
