  1. no

people will make fun of you for going too slow

its also too dangerous to ride the speed limit and blend in with car and truck traffic

many traffic lights don't sense motorcycles and you have to exceed the speed limits to make the green lights

if you have a fast bike, everybody expects you to exceed the speed limit

  2. Nope, in most states they have a different speed limit for bikes, its a simple formula where you divide by 7 and add it to the regular limit. For intance..if the speed limit is 65..divide by 7...you get 9, add nine to 65 and you get 74. If the speed limit is 25, divide by 7= 4, or 3.57 rounded up to 4, the motorcycle speed limit is 29... so on and so forth. This allows motorcycles to not have traffic close in on them from behind, and prevent tailgating so that in the event of an accident they dont get ran over.

  3. Nope.  Where we live, bikes can go as fast as they like.

Thule, Greenland.  The chains do slow us down.

  4. nah **** it if you have to ask do what you want and let darwin's law take control..... i beg you.... sure the roads will be messy for a while, but eventually people will learn or those who can't won't ride a bike....

  5. Of course, and you need a motorcycle drivers license, in California that would be a class M license.

  6. thats just a suggested speed limit lol jk yeah obv they do. is this a serious question

  7. No.  My motto is AOP, accelerate out of problems.

  8. yes to be legal

i regularly exceed it but i know that it is against the law.

the only exceptions that i am aware of with motorcycles are:

    no seatbelt required

CAN split lanes in some states.

  9. Yes absolutly

    thanks - http://scooters-review.blogspot.com/

  10. A famous motorcycle instructor taught riding a little faster than surrounding traffic as a safety technique.  This allows you to attend more to what's in front of you than behind (you should still be aware of whats in your rear views).

  11. & on your pedal cycle too....

mate got done speeding on his push bike...

son got done speeding on his skate board....

  12. That depends on whether you want to keep your licence. speeding tickets suck dude.

  13. That limit is only for cars.

On a motorcycle you are allowed to drive at a rate 1.5 times the limit posted.

For example, in a residential street with a posted speed of 25MPH, you may go 37.5MPH.

It is a little known fact, but it is one that I try to follow at all times.

    Remember!

That is a limit! You don't need to go 97.5 in a 65. For a beginner I would probably stay within 10% of the posted limit, but thank goodness you have options!

    Good luck out there!

  14. Yes

  15. Yes, of course in order to be legal

  16. The speed limit is to be obeyed by all motorized vehicles. From motorcycles, to cars, to big rigs.

  17. Like was said, alot of riders go either slower or faster than traffic, that way you don't blend in with the cars.  They tend to forget that you're there.  But the speed limit is there for a reason, and the cops love bikes.

  18. What country?

  19. Not really, the faster you go the less likely they will be able to catch you....

  20. Try to keep your speed to apx double the posted limit.  That should keep you out of trouble.   Young men and motorcycles---they were made for each other.

  21. LOL @ David..im the guy that gave you what will probably be your only thumbs up..youre thumbs down was for being honest LOL

Yes, of course you have to obey the laws.

If youre new, dont be a gear squid...get yourself a good helmet, jacket, gloves, and good riding boots to start.  should you find yourself skidding along on the pavement at 70, youll be happy you have the helmet, gloves, jacket, and boots to help keep your butt from getting ground down to bones...:)

yup, its very easy to exceed the speed limit on a bike...you can go faster than any legally posted limit in 1st gear on an R1...

  22. Yes they do except for the squids doing stunts but that is a dieing breed

  23. yes deffo

  24. YES

    YES YES
