Do motorcycle helmets irritate ear piercings (particularly industrial/cartilage)?

Since the inner shell has a soft liner, it would scrape against the piercing. I would recommend removing the ring before putting on the helmet, especially if the earring is larger than a studded diamond one.

My son has one of those plug things in his ear and while it isnt a big one it doesn't seem to bother him.  A lot of the other riders I know also have very large earplugs and they seem to have no trouble with them.   I guess it could be an issue when it is healing.

it may irritate it putting it on and off, but possibly not. When ever i wear earings it hurts somewhat sometimes they come off if the backing isnt strong enough but if its a body piercing it is usually alot more secure.
