Question:

Do movers move houseplants? And how?

I'm planning to move in a few months. This is my first assisted move out-of-state; it's about 1500 miles. In all my previous moves, I was able to care for my small potted houseplants on my own.

My question: do movers deal with houseplants, and if so, how do they move them? Do they just throw them in a box and hope for the best, or could I expect the movers to carefully pack them?

Since my plants can't travel with me to my new destination, I would rather give them away to neighbors here than risk having them all die en route.

If you've had experiences with movers and houseplants, I'd love to hear from you. Thanks!

  1. Well, it is not allowed to ship live plants on interstate moves, for quarantine regulations, so moving companies do not ship them.

So as a suggestion ,either give them a way to friends or ship them with FedEx (but it will cost you a lot of $$$).

    Have a safe move,
