Do movie theaters broadcast their movies on a FM frequency for headphones for people with poor hearing or hearing disablities?

I remember in the 1990s, you could get a pair of earphones from the movie theaters so you could enjoy and experience the sounds from the film in case you had poor hearing.

If that is so, do or did the radio theaters broadcast the film's sound and dialogue onto a low-frequency FM band that the earphones pick-up on? If the theaters do use such a signal, do you happen to know what frequency channel they utitilize?

I was wondering because I have a portable MP3 player that has FM capability and was wondering if I could use it to hear the movie better when watching it?
