Do muslim countries (e.g. Saudi Arabia) go to participate in Olympics?

If they do, what clothes do they wear?

because almost evry1 there wears short pants to run

or do they have their own uniform?

Yes they wear like all other ppl, but saudi arabia doesnt send girls there, other countries do though, and they dress normally!

Yes, they do participate in Olymipc games.

They dress up lik eother atheletes just women do some extra and I saw a runner who was wearing a very good headcovering with the some lose running suit.

I liked her!

I have seen questions on Olympics Games in the Middle East which is also interesting as well. Please counter the bias views on Muslims.

well what i know is that Saudi Arabia used to send only male athletes but will send female athletes also in next Olympics

but they could wear a hejab ofcourse

Wa alaikum salam dear. As you saw on the opening and closing of Olympics and also in everydat TV reporting,there were manu muslim countries participated in Beijing Olympics such as Indonesia,Malaysia,

Pakistan,Saudi Arabia,Qatar,Egypt,Turkey,Iraq,Afghanist... etc. Their clothes are 2 types e.g just like other athletes wearing short pant and shirt and the other types especially for women just keep their body covered by long trousers and long shirts with hijabs.  in the form and color of their own uniform.

she was Egyptian swimmer who got many cups in international competitions

after she wore hijab she was n`t allowed to swim with hijab but she got a medal in the last Olympic competitions

i have wondered this myself, i am a ex-gymnast.....and i wud lov to get back into the swing of things, but i doubt i will be able to.....eerr jus one of the many things we give up so we can insha'allah get jannah in the here after.

my friends want me to try out for wrestling with them, cuz the whole females are week thing, it seems fun, but not for me, plus those uniforms are so horrible and un modest.....*sigh*

i believe if u did see a muslim in the olypics, it wud be in the winter olypics, or a sport like running, where leotards or somthing of the like aren't a necessity for the sport.

alaykum as salam.  of course many Muslim countries send delegations to the olympics.  As for the uniform, it varies depending on the sport but in these past games in China there was a female runner from bahrain who wore the hijab and there were other muslim female athletes in various sports also wearing the hijab.  It depends on the person of course.
