Question:

Do my budgies get along?

I bought two budgies a week ago. They were both in a cage together at the pet store, but I don't know how long. They are just young and have not formed their colors yet to know what s*x they are. Couple of questions:

1. Sometimes they will sit by each other and be fine, then other times I see them pecking at each other (which seems like fighting). Are they?

2.They won't stop chirping! I had budgies before when I was younger and we could cover them when they were being loud, but these guys seem to get louder when they are covered.

3.Another type of chirping question: I can't really explain the sound but it sounds almost like they're screaming. It is a different sound than the regular chirping. They do this when they are away from each other, or by each other, so I don't know if they are fighting or not. Today they made the noise though and one of them was flapping its wings wildly at the other one

HEEEEELLLLPPP!

thank you.

  1. My budgies do the same, my male trys to flirt with my female and she puts him in his place with a peck and he stops. Sometime they scrap over millet but usualy they are fine together. The wing flapping on the other hand? if it was a male doing this? he might be courting the other (if the other is female) they can flop their wings to show off how big they are, they also bob their head up and down, side to side and make alot of noise, some c***s like to fly around to show off.

Also if you catch them pecking eachother, its not always a sign that they are fighting, sometimes its play to, i suggest you take a look at this website at bird behavious! it helped me alot!
