  1. Yes

  2. Yes, all new skis are factory waxed and edge sharpened.

The typical factory edge is good for most people's skiing. But for better carving, i.e. for racing, edges are usually resharpened with more aggressive base and side beveling.

  3. If you have purchased them from a professional shop, and asked for a tune up they will sharpen and wax the skiis. Usually the sharpening is marginal unless you specify a high performance tune or a race tune.  If you are just learning, do not try to use a race tune, the skiis will be too sharp and grabby for a good day of skiing.  The factory does not wax them.

  4. I just bought a new pair of skis this Jan and they do come with wax on them.  However, I would suggest waxing them relatively soon after using them.  I have skied on mine twice and I can tell that they need to be waxed.  I can tell because after skiing I can see the bottom of my ski starting to turn white.  A good place to find a lot of ski maintenance info is on the Tognar website.  The info is all free and they also have a good waxing starter kit on sale there.

  5. Ok, that other guy is totay wrong, ive been skiing 30 years. Yes, they d come presharpened and prewaxed, atlest on every pAIR F SKIIS IVE EVER SEEN GOOD LUCK WITH THE BUYING

  6. Not normally...You have to wax them and sharpen them yourself ( They typically come with rounded edges)

  7. A factory wax and sharpened edges is standard.. it may not be the best tune for the ski but it is ready to ride right off the shelf.
