  1. its dangourous if u are new

  2. A factory tune is seldom a sharp edge for a professional or race use.  The tune that I use is a 1x1 base to edge bevel and I ski the edges SHARP. I have always believed that I could dull the edges on the hill if they are too sharp, but it is hard to sharpen them on the hill if too dull. Either take them to a good shop or learn to tune your own equipment, the tools are about the price of a couple of shop tunes and you can get many more tunes out of the tools.

  3. Might as well get them sharpened if your worried about it. If they dont feel sharp, they more than likely aren't. If she skis agressively get that done asap if not just get it done next time ur at the shop.

  4. depends on how aggressive she is really.  If she is aggressive then she will want to have them tuned (waxed and sharpened).

If she is a beginner or moderate then she will probably be fine with how they camed from K2

  5. most of the time, they don't. Once they are worn a lot, you might want to get them sharpened and waxed.

  6. just to be safe i would have them sharpened becaus the last thing you want to worry about is a problem with your skiies i ski double blacks all the time so i always make sure my skiies are fine before i go 11,000 feet up the mountain

  7. Most times the tuning that is done at the factory is not good.  I would get them tuned.  It is not dangerous or an unneeded step.  A good ski shop will tune the skis according to the users ability level. I used to service skis so I have some knowledge in this area.
