  1. My baby is 17 days old and I've noticed  her body twitching when she first falls asleep.  I know their nerves and muscles twitch when they go into a sleep state,  so I'm thinking it's from that.  Still ask and find out to make sure that's what it is.  :)

  2. My 4 month old twitched, jerked and startled a lot when she was a newborn. I think it is their little nervous systems that are not quite developed yet.

  3. My son is 8 days old and Ive never noticed him twitching. He moves around alot, but he doesnt twitch.

  4. It's hard to say without seeing the "twitch".  They have jerky little movements that look like they've been startled, mainly because their nervous system and muscles aren't all developed and coordinated yet.  Mention it to the baby's doctor at your next appointment, or call in for an earlier appointment if you're really concerned.
