  1. you need to edit your Yahoo profile and possibly your info on Yahoo my account. I believe real name and nickname on a profile is what appears on the group. unless you're talking in some way about it showing up in mail?

  2. Go to your yahoo messenger friends list.  Click on messenger, then click on "my contact details",  underneath the box in which you could enter your first, last and middle name is a box that says nickname. Enter your new nick, save it and you're done.

  3. Go to http://my.yahoo.com or any group in which you are a member and sign in.

Click on "My Account" near top of screen.

    Enter your password again.

On the far right side of page, click on "Edit/Create Profiles."

Near top of page, to the right of the profile you wish to edit, click on "Edit".

Click on "Edit Profile Information" tab.

In the field "Real Name", delete your real first and last name and type in your Yahoo nickname or leave it blank.

Scroll to bottom of page and click on "Save Changes".
