  1. if ur a vegetarian eat fish if your a vegan eat things like veggie bologna chicken or beef  and if you eat maet why are you asking this question

  2. there is no subsitute for a good steak !!!!

keep boycotting the meat market . makes it cheaper for me to feed my family .........

    !!!!!@#??@#$$$

  3. Seitan and tempeh and tvp are good alternatives, the are not like tofu, but can be substituted in some tofu recipes. No they do not feel mushy, and taste great!

  4. its not mandatory to eat tofu.

  5. no, they are not mushy. In fact they have almost a meat-like texture to them. Seitan is "stringy" and pulls apart like (I hate to use this as an analogy) chicken whereas tempeh has a "grainy" texture like bacon. Both are meat alternatives but do not contain any tofu.

  6. Have you tried freezing your tofu?  It gives it a firmer, chewier texture.

Seitan has a sort of spongy, chewy texture.  Tempeh has a nutty, chewy texture and taste.

I recommend you try to make your own seitan, as the stuff in the premade stuff is really awful.

  7. You don't need an alternative to tofu.

Bread, pasta, cereal, rice, beans, peas, lentils, nuts and seeds can offer more than enough protein.
