Do old-fashioned rotary-dial phones still work on the UK phone network?

If I had one, could I plug one of these old phones into a BT line and dial away?

As far as a regular BT landline is concerned, yes, a rotary dial phone will still work.  

If you get a phone which was never converted to a cord with the new-style plugs though, it will need a few internal connections changed to adapt it to the current wiring system.
