Do older generation Asian parents dislike Latinas?

I'm Latina, Mexican American to be exact. I have friends of different backgrounds. I just recently moved in with my friends to college far from my hometown. My Asian girl friends tell me that their parents wouldn't let their cousins or siblings date Black or Hispanic and I'm attracted to Asian guys. =(

So even if I do find love, I think it may end just like that. I'm a friendly person, pretty, and do pretty well in school. I have been to houses of my Asian friends and their parents always watch me but not the other Asian or White girls. So do Asian parents dislike Hispanics, if so why?

Well everyone is different some may be some may not. Same can be said of other ethnic groups.

It's like that with Desis also. i dated a Desi. I couldnt even meet his older generation relatives either.

It's not that people from Asia don't lke Americans, Mexicans, or black people. it's that their culture values (old generation) state that they shouldn't marry outside their race. they shouldnt even date at all. the marriages might even be arranged in some cases.

Don't give up you'll find THE ONE. just they same as i'll find...my one!!

Its pretty much the same way with old fashioned people. They have a fixed impression about certain races. Its your job though to show them that your a nice, genuine, civilized person.

My experience is that it doesn't matter what you are, if their children/grandchildren want to date or marry Latinas or any other race they will give full support

My Family, my friends family, my in-laws family. We all have many mixed families this generation.

If they're soo worried about interracial relationships, they should keep their kids in their native homeland.

i have been dating a vietnamese/chinese guy for like 5 years and at first his mother was like why not asian girl. i guess she didnt see why he should bother going out of the race.  but she grew to not care about race and i live with them and its really nice. she is really nice and loving like as if i was her daughter. =]

and i have tons of asian friends and their parents loveeee me

my best friends grandmother moved from korea and she introduced me to her grandson hoping something good will come out of it and im mexican too

Yesterday in front of a Japanese resturant, I saw a chinese guy around 18 - 19 years old standing still looking down at his own shoes without making one noise while his mother talking to him angrily saying how bad he was wanting to stay overnight in his classmate's home.  He was quiet while receiving this punishment.

Some asian parents are more assertive to their kids than others, and many asian children are respectful to their parents.

I don't think asian parents particularly like or dislike hispanic,  but I think they would prefer their sons dating girls of their own country.

I had a japanese boyfriend before and I am a chinese. His mother threatened to commit suicide if her only son would marry me.

The bottom line, it all depends on how much the guy loves you.

Mine doesn't seem to care. I bring friends of different backgrounds all the time. I'm pretty sure Asian parents don't hate Hispanics..even if they did it would probably that one Asian family..not Asian parents in general.

To be honest, I think most OLDER generation parents might. But don't think that ALL asian parents are like that because mine aren't

I am living in China, and I can tell you that Chinese parents are very traditional and very protective of their children when it comes to dating.  Keep in mind that they don't want their children to even *think* about dating until they are in college.  One of my female students (around 13) told me that her mother would break her legs if she procured a boyfriend, and I think her mother meant this rule to apply throughout her high-school years.  This kind of thing is very typical.  This kind of perspective may help you to understand Chinese parents a bit better.

I don't think that is true. It's just an urban legend myth.

All Asian parents would be so happy to see their son marry to a nice Latin girl like you. I know my parents would.
