  1. Millions of people do trust online dealing though and the reason is that if the dealing wasn't fair then someone would crack it and cheat the place blind.  In poker there's been a few instances of this in the past and it wasn't even intentional but people benefited until they found out and put a stop to it.  There's also been a few cases where employees with access to the program cheated at a few tables but were found out.

In terms of casinos well there's already electronic betting (slots, video poker, etc) in physical casinos and the principle is if you don't set the payout high enough people won't play much.  This stuff is entertainment and the goal is for the house to make as much as they can but it has to be at a level which promotes play.

The next thing we want to look at is why an online gambling site and not a physical one?  Well the overhead costs are practically zero for both you and the site.  You pay money to go to a physical poker room or casino and they pay a ton as well.  Online you're sitting at home and they have huge computer rooms and things are done cheaper on both ends.

So can you still trust these guys?  Well it's in their own interests to not only provide a fair service but to provide an excellent service.  For instance the name of Poker Stars, as the largest and most esteemed poker room in teh world, is worth hundreds of millions.  The value of the company is simply their reputation, one that they have worked hard to build for years.  They have gone out of their way for millions of folks which has been the key to their success and they will continue to do so since it's their lifeblood.  The same is true for all large online gambling enterprises, and although you'll fu\ind varying degrees of service, it's good better best not poor, sucks, ripoff.

Many of us feel very comfortable having tens or hundreds of thousands or even more with these guys knowing our money is completely safe and that we're going to be treated well every time.  If you're not satisfied then you can vote with your feet and very easily at that which is what keeps things competitive.

  2. Nope.  I don't trust a computer dealing the cards.  Too easy to rig.

  3. I play online poker everyday!
