  1. They try to, but inasmuch as even the smallest organisms are very complex, small errors may creep in and although the errors may not be gross, any error means that the copy isn't exact.

    The possibility exists that an organism could produce an exact copy of itself.  However, the likelihood of that happening many times is vanishingly small.

    These small errors are the basis of evolution. The errors that do not work against survival are passed on and the cumulative changes over immense periods of time produce new species.

    Obviously not. For it to be a clone it would have to be exactly like one or the other. Offspring have characteristics of both parents but not an exact copy.

    If you grow a plant from cuttings it is a clone with the exact same DNA but offspring will have their own personal characteristics,
