I understand that morning sickness in pregnancy serves a purpose of getting rid of germs etc.. but do any other animals get it? I can't see how it serves it's function effectively!

Sorry - being grumpy and sick! I really don't like being pregnant xx :-)

  1. My dog does.

He's not pregnant. He just throws up in the morning sometimes.

  2. I'm picturing a little rotund squirrel waddling around, all grumpy and sick.

It's too cute of an image, now I totally lost all track of what I was going to say.

  3. That is a good question and I have thought about it before. I don't know about other animals but rabbits don't get sick to where they throw up well because they can't throw up like a lot of other animals but when they are pregnant they sure look like they don't feel good.

  4. That's a really good question...

I don't see why they couldn't get it also because they're having the same sort of changes in their bodies.

I've started on the morning sickness stage. Hopefully it wont be too bad though :S

"statistically morning sickness reduces the likelihood of miscarriage, pre-term birth, low birthweight and perinatal death."
