  1. Oyster only works in London on Transport for London run franchises. Train Franchises run all over the UK, hence why Oyster is not accepted on Mainline services outside of Zone 6 or on a number of train services operating within the London Zones.

  2. yup

  3. they work on the London underground trains  but not other trains

  4. If you have an Oyster pass you can use it on trains in the zones for your pass, but you can not use pay as you go and must buy an extension to your pass before travel.

  5. hello

oyster can only be used on London underground

so therefore no you cannot use it to get normal trains

  6. Oyster Season Tickets are vaild on any train (except for Heathrow Connect between Hayes and the Airport and Heathrow Express) within the Travelcard Zones

Oyster Pre-Pay is accepted by some operators on routes shared with the Underground (eg c2c between West Ham and Upminster)... It will also be accepted on London Overground (the former Silverlink Metro) from next month. Again its only within the Zones...

If you are traveling out from London it may be possible to get a 'Boundry' ticket with an Oyster season ticket (not prepay) but if you are going long distance I doubt it would make any difference to the fare
