Do painting shoes work?

will acrilyc or spray paint work on shoes?

For Acrylic Paint:

It depends on the shoe I think.  I tried it on a pair of sneakers and it worked just fine.  I had to put an undercoat of white paint first.  

There's a lot of preparation for leather shoes, like using acetone to take the finish off.  

I don't know if you need to use anything for canvas shoes, though I hear that  Gesso  works good as an undercoat.

Personally, I'd try it with a pair of c**p throwaway shoes first just to make sure it turns out the way you want.
