Do parabolic mirrors have a center or curvature?

  1. Since they are not spherical, they don't have a center of curvature, but they do have a focal point.  My reflecting telescope has a parabolic mirror, and it brings light to a focal point.  


  2. Parabolic mirrors are curved.

    They also have a focus.

    You could think of this as a "center" but it is probably better to leave it as focus or focal point.

    When parallel light rays strike a parabolic mirror, they are reflected back to the focus.

    This is one way of defining a parabola, BTW.
