  1. no

but idk if it will taste good haha you should taste it!

    lol

for real its fine it won't hurt them

  2. It would've lost its nutritional value by now, and if it smells bad, then you definitely don't want it in your birds.  Even if it doesn't smell, it's still not good for your birds because that would mean it's got a lot of freaky preservatives that aren't healthy.

  3. They don't actually 'expire' but they will get stale and loose their nutritional value.  The best way to check them is see if they sprout.  Soak some in water all day and over night.  The next morning strain, wash off under running water, and place a coffee filter or paper towel in the colander/strainer and pour the seeds in.  Mist well (enough to get them wet) 3 times a day.  In a few days you should see them sprouting.  If they are they're still good.  DO NOT through these away. Keep doing it until they are all sprouted good or until you have a little 'grass' growing.  Then feed them to you birds. It's good for them and they love it. If you have nothing else to feed them but these seeds, then make up some quick birdie bread by making cornbread (scratch or mix) with mixed vegetables thrown in.  Birds should never be kept on an all seed diet.

  4. It's not a good idea to keep seeds for a long time. They get stale and moths lay eggs in them over time. Bacteria growth is more likely because of cross-contamination (such as water spills). Rats are more prone to find seeds after you've had them for awhile. It's a good idea to change the position of the seed bin every couple months or so.

We don't like stale food, and neither do parakeets.
