  1. A parent is influence every part of their child life, even career option, not by force but by helping and guiding to that which is good in your opinion for your child, and give direction to lead in the way you wish them to go.

  2. Since parents are role models for their children,  I would say yes. Also, parents often live their lives over through their children and encourage them in a direction of the parents choosing.  Look at tiger woods, his father influenced him greatly and what a success he became.

  3. Yes ofcourse. But ultimately the child will be the decision maker. Parent should help him in taking a right decision.

  4. Of course there are influences from the parent.  I have three children two of whom I know are college material and that's the way that I directed them.  The older of the two loved to draw and since she was young I encouraged her art.  I always gave her crayon's and pencils and paints and lots of paper to save my walls. AS long as she expressed an interest in art I made sure that she had the a materials that she needed and I made sure that she was exposed to art. When she went to college it was for art and now she's studying to become an art teacher.  So yes by encouraging her to use and develop her art I influenced her career options.  With my younger on she's always loved to cook  so I let her cook. She cooked her first full meal, protein, starch and vegetables with a drink and desert when she was eight years old and I didn't help her.  She was a the time planning on being a chef.  I would by her the food that she wanted to use in her meals and recipes, I brought her cook books and utensils to help her cook.  I made sure that as she got older she had decent knifes so that she wouldn't cut herself.  I still encourage her cooking although now she wants to be a psychologist so I encourage her to watch shows that pertain to psychology and I buy her books on the subject. We talk about which colleges might be best for her.  So if she does decide to go through with it I will have encouraged her and in that way influenced her. So yes if you encourage your child's interests and hobbies and explore the possiblites of school with her/him you will also have infulenced you child's career choice.

  5. Maybe they do but at the end of the day its the child that should make the final decision, for their own good.

  6. some do and some don't

there are those parents who want their children live the dream they have for them, but to them they think they are doing what is best for their children.

and as a result you end-up doing it for your parents and not following your heart.

those who don't they must just try to direct and support their children in every decision they make

  7. Although finally the choice must be with the child, the parents' attitudes and desires, level of education, social level, and finances to pay for their child's education all have an influence on what the child's choices are.
