Do parents really know all they say they do?

I have probably heard my mom say she knows better because she's older a million times. But, I've been right about things she's been wrong about more than half those times. Why to parents feel the need to make themselves seem better at everything? Why do they think they went through the same things you did? Why do they have to tell you what to believe?

Now my mom is determined to make me a christian. Shes forcing me to go to church, which just makes me hate the religion more. One of my teachers makes our parents sign our exams, so after a received an A on a Evolution exam, my mom was so angry, I was practically grounded.

  1. We parents do what we think is best for our children. My daughters did have to go to church with us but we never forced them to "become Christians," as you say. I could never do that. We taught them how they could be believers but always gave them a free choice as we know God gave us. Non Christian parents thought we were strict. Christian parents thought we were lenient. The my wife divorced me and everyone seemed to lose all the respect they had for me. I still try to do what's right and I don't blame God for my troubles. Nor do I blame my parents. Seeking blame is a terrible way to live life.

  2. Why is she mad you got an A. that's good. Maybe you should just deal with church for a while. Its good daydreaming time lol. I had to go to ccd for 4 years I know how you feel. Just deal with it and it will blow over.Don't worry all parents are like that always saying they are right when they are wrong. You see when mom does that i go on the internet and show her she is wrong. You can practically see the steam coming out of her ears.lol

  3. Parents like to say that they know so much more than you because they either 1. Want you to shut up or 2. Want you to respect them.

My parents like to say "Jessica ,we went through the same things your going through" But really they haven't. They just say some of those things to either to get you to stop complaining or believe it or not , they are trying to comfort you so you don't feel like your the only one who has that problem.

Well she's your mom and she just wants the best for you and she probily wants to share her religion with you because she loves you.

    Well that's all I got...

    Good luck

  4. well your mom may be going a little too far with the whole evolution thing. no offense but that is frickin' retarded! what mom in their right mom would ground you for getting good grades. when i read the first part i knew what i was gonna say about how you and your parents should bbe equal but still have power and athority but when they push religion that iwhen i draw the line. i mean don't get me wrong im not athist or anything but my family doesn't go to church or anything but we all believe in something. sorry but i am virtually punching your mom.
