  1. My caiques get COOKED meat regularly. They LOVE chicken bones (the little wing bones -- they crack them open and eat the marrow), they LOVE rice with beef gravy on it.

Meat (animal protein) is GOOD for birds.

  2. No.. But you should not feed them raw meat and really only give meat as a treat now and again. Make sure the meat is not marinated or has any negative spices on it as that can affect the bird in a negative way or even kill them. Meat really just is better off not in their diet. Also get online look up all the toxic thing birds can be exposed to , you will be suprised !! Don't forget to look at the list of toxic plants too.

  3. You could very easily KILL your bird if you feed it meat so keep that in mind upon thinking it is funny because it is not funny at all. Birds intestines can fall out of their bodies killing them slowly sinse meat can't pass through their bodies very easily. Thats like feeding them sand paper and it sanding their guts until it pulls out their guts trying to be passed.

And if a bird is being mean, it usally has good reason to be mean to the people it is scared of. At least in the bird's mind it does.

  4. Not really. But if you force the parrot to eat meat, there's a possibility that it can get aggressive. If they don't eat anything at all, you can try giving it treats instead of feeding it meat. Most parrots aren't really aggressive, so you don't need to worry about them. :)

  5. They do when getting to their mating age.
