  1. Parrots can be infected with diseases just like any other living thing.  But many of the diseases are only spread between parrots and not to humans.  Diseases that can pass from parrots to humans are called "zoonotic".

One of the few diseases that CAN be transmitted to people is Chlamydia (not the same as the sexually transmitted disease).  In people it is called Psittacosis.

You should have your bird examined by an avian vet at least once a year, just like you would your dog or cat.  Your avian vet will evaluate your bird and if he or she suspects disease will suggest appropriate testing.

  2. yea they do but i cant figure out the name. If you took a diseaded bird to a plane the whole plane would get this nasty disease and u have to belocked up in a secure place so u wont spread the jerms.

  3. yes

  4. Any animal CAN have a disease, but pet parrots do not have any more diseases than your average cat or dog have.

Many people are allergic to bird dander, though, and can feel very sickly and ill from that when they're around birds.  An allergy is not the same as a communicable disease, though.

Raising wings and shaking tail feathers and vocalizing is often a gesture that many bird species do while copulating.  So, when you bird does that on your shoulder it's like a dog humping your leg.

  5. they can but chances are if you get a regular vet check up and get it / got it from a trusted breeder then you should be fine !
