Do paychecks take a while to come by mail?

At the college my dad teaches at, they have a policy where they mail you your final check for that semester after you have submitted final grades and stuff.

My dad did all that in a timely manner. He was expecting pay on the 8th (last friday, that was pay day), but as of Wednesday (yesterday), it still hasn't come!

depends all on the volume the post office has that week. I would suggest calling to make sure that the paycheck was for sure mailed. Good luck!

and no, it shouldn't take that long to get it in the mail. usually local mail is received within a day....at least here in the south (US) it is  :)

just a lil fyi, if he doesn't get it when he is "supposed" to...normal payday.... and if the school gives him the run-around, call the dept of labor (google their #). employers are required to pay within the usual time period and and if they don't, your dad could file a complaint that would then be investigated and the school could be fined. that should be enough of a threat to get them to cut a check.

but just call and find out if they've cut and mailed it. and confirm the address.
