  1. 3. the way the light is 'bounced' off of the atmosphere

    5. probably because the organs in their lower body is lighter than the rest, and they are no longer alive to keep themselves balanced.

    7. by keeping them in cellars. deep pits in the ground are usually cold if kept well sheltered (like with a building over them lol), so they acted as fridges.

    8. Probably so that the wind would blow over them, and not blow their hats of

    10. because the legs would look odd on a car. besides, it's only supposed to capture the general image of a duck, not be an exquisite masterpiece of accurate detail - it's a car ornament!

  2. I will only answer the one I know for certain as no one has gotten it quite right so far-

#3. The sky appears blue because of the ozone at the upper layer of the atmosphere. Ozone is a molecule made up of 3 oxygen atoms and appears as a dark blue when in very concentrated amounts- and that's why out sky is light blue. It is diffused over a large area. It is poisonous if inhaled or ingested and a fairly unstable substance.

  3. 1. so that the pitcher can look down at the hitter

    2. so people can read better

    3. the sky is blue because all the colors except blue are absorbed by water molecules in the atmosphere.

    4. it gets deleted

    5. when fish die their insides settle, they're less dense than water so they are forced to make the rest of the fish's body float upside down

    6. you can buy macadamia nuts in shells

    7. underground rooms

    8. less wind resistance

    9. so the mailmen don't get mixed up

    10. because the ducks are shown to be in flight not standing up

  4. > Do penguins have knees?

They have the same anatomy as other birds, so, yes they have knees.   Their legs are more like a dog or horse than like ours, so the equivalent of a "knee" is up higher on the leg.

    1. Why are baseball dug outs, dug 1/2 way below ground?

If they were all the way below ground, you could not see out.  If they were all the way above, they'd block the view of the 1st row behind them.

    2. Why is comic strip print in capitol letters?

It traditionally was hand inked, and capital letters have less curves (easier to make out of a series of ink lines from inking pen or brush)

    3. Why is the sky blue?

Blue just happens to be the wavelength of light that results from the refraction of water vapor in the atmosphere

    4. What happens to your social security number when you die? and How and When does it (if ever) get re-assigned?

It goes on your death cert and the Social Security admin must be notified the person has passed away.    It is not re-used.

    5. Why do fish float up side down when they die?

Swim bladder, the organ that lets them control their bouyancy, is no longer functioning.   Animals in general will also tend to float for a period after death because the decomposing body is producing lots of gasses.  Eventually the gasses dissipate and the tissues become waterlogged, so the dead thing may not float forever.

    6. Why can't u buy macadamia nuts in their shells?

No idea.  I hate macadamia nuts.  :-)

    7. How did they keep beer cold in saloons in the old west?

They didn't.   The only option they had was ice houses, depending on climate.   In the middle of winter ice is cut from lakes and stored in a well insulated building (usually masonry/stone and usually below ground).  If you stored up enough ice, even with melting you'd have some ice left in summer.    It was chiseled off and sold to people to put in their ice boxes (unpowdered fridge) to keep things cold.

    8. Why are there dents on top of cowboy hats?

Cause most cowboys have dented heads from riding horses without helmets.

But seriously:  many hats have an indentation in the middle partly due to style and partly because the manner in which the hat is made tends to create a wrinkle down the center.

    9. Why are the address labels on a subscription magazine usually placed upside down?

    Mine are actually sideways.   :-)

The thing is that it doesn't matter what direction they're placed because the post office isn't reading the magazine, they're reading the tag.   As long as that tag ends up in a place where the Post Office can find it easily, who cares what direction it's facing.

    10. Why are there legless ducks on the crest of cadillacs?

I have no idea what you're talking about ????

The original cadillac crest was a coat of arms which incorporated duck profiles.

  5. You can totaly buy macadamia nuts in their shells when you buy a bag of variety nuts in shells they come with brazill nuts and walnuts but ya you can.

  6. 1. Why are baseball dug outs, dug 1/2 way below ground? If it were 6 feet then the player would have a hard time getting out.

    2. Why is comic strip print in capitol letters? Because its not in non-capitol letters.

    3. Why is the sky blue? Because God made it that way!

    4. What happens to your social security number when you die? and How and When does it (if ever) get re-assigned? No, a social security number is non transferable no matter what!

    5. Why do fish float up side down when they die? Because they still have air inside their bodies. Common physics!

    6. Why can't u buy macadamia nuts in their shells? Because its hard to chew with the shells on.

    7. How did they keep beer cold in saloons in the old west? Beer wasn't made cold that time.

    8. Why are there dents on top of cowboy hats? Would it be nice if it was a big bulge?

    9. Why are the address labels on a subscription magazine usually placed upside down? They don't have quality control personnels checking if the address labels were upside down or not.

    10. Why are there legless ducks on the crest of cadillacs? What? is there?

  7. penguins don't have knees, that's why they waddle

dug out half way in the ground so they don't have to use so much fence to cover the opening

    2. capitol letters so it catches attention

    3. Sky is blue because of combined gases

    4. SSN gets put on "hold" probably gets reassigned eventually.
