Do people actually get offended if one of their contacts doesn't give them best answer?

i would hope not, that would be kinda silly. i know that when i choose a best answer, i really do choose what i judge to be the best answer, regardless of who it came from. BA to me can be one that answers the question the best, but in many cases, it's the one i found the most entertaining. but make no mistake, if there is cleavage involved, that could influence things! LOL j/k, i'm not quite THAT shallow (at least not yet).

God when I answer question I can look back a completely see the mood I was in when i did. So just because I am you contact or your mine doesn't make a difference at all.

And someone may have more 1st hand experience in the subject.!!

But cleavage should never be a voting point unless that's the question LOL

If one of my contacts gives the answer I believe to be the best, I give it to them, if not, then the best gets it.  Sometimes my opinion of a best answer is not what others may think it should be.  Just like right now, you may think this answer isn't very good, but I do.  It's just an opinion basically.  That's why I am in P&S more now.  Less contraversy over here as well!  I pick a best answer because it honestly answered my question first of all, then I go by how informative it was if it was a serious question like I have asked in Dogs.

I try to answer a question specifically pertaining to the question and not trailing off into other ideas that could relate.  I don't expect to chosen for a best answer, I just hope the person asking will gain some knowledge.

I've never asked a question, just answered. So I cannot reply on the criteria for choosing a best answer based on what I have done.

What I would do is select the best answer for the question asked no matter who answered. The best answer is also for others to see and it would be good for them to actually see THE best answer. We are here to inform with accurate and truthful and beneficial answers.

As for being offended, I never even thought of that as happening. Since I don't always know just what point or aspect the questioner is looking for, it would not be my place to be offended, contact or not. Call me naive, but that is my thinking.

I'm with you. I usually choose the best answer who is more thorough,and sends the message very clearly; in explanation,regardless whether the answerer is in my contacts or not

No, I hope not.  It would be kind of immature.  My criteria is, I pick 2 people that I deem have given best answer and then I make them do paper/rock/scissors.
