Do people adapt very slowly to their climate ?

Is this why people from different countries have varying physical attributes, different eye, skin, hair colours. Height, build etc also vary.

Uhhhhh if ppl look differently it's cause of the genes their parents passed onto them to have them look like their parents a bit.  

But to say someone living in a cold climate and than they moved to a warm climate than yeah it would take awhile for the their body to adapt.
