  1. Any of the animals there, can be kept as pets. I've even seen then sell the baby mice, without the fur and that couldn't see yet, to be fed to a snake.

  2. Rats make much better pets.  I have owned many kinds of rodents and my rats were the only ones that never bit.  Very smart and social.  They would come when I called them to me.  I don't keep rats any more but my son buys mice  now..........to feed his Ball Python.

  3. get a rat instead they are more social and loving, they also bite less, but yes most of the mice go to feed....either way its best to get 2 same s*x ones because they are social...

  4. PetSmart does not sell feeder mice or rats.   If someone comes in looking to buy for a feeder they will NOT be sold one, they will direct them to the frozen feeders.    I am sure some people have gone in and lied about wanting it for a pet but they are crazy paying that much just for a feeder.

Babylesl PetSmart does not sell pinkies like you described.   They have them frozen only.     Pinkies would not even be out in the store.   If a female mouse/rat would be pregnant it gets removed immediately and goes back to the supplier.

Also go into different PetSmarts.   One PetSmart will only have all female's in their store and another might have all males.    There are never male and female animals in one store.   It is only one s*x in that entire store.

The PetSmart I worked at takes very good care of their animals.  They are cleaned twice a day.    Opening and closing and are handled.

  5. yes they are most likely for feed, they aren't very good animals from pet stores, i have had bad experiences, i bought a rabbit from a pet store and he is a mean little rabbit, but i bought one from a breeder and he is the sweetest thing. And my mice bit me all over my hands. Try to find one from a breeder instead of a pet store.
