  1. NO you cant. But your pet can get a cold from you!


  2. no. most animal viruses (including colds & flus) are species-specific, meaning they don't jump animal types and infect something else. one of the exceptions to this rule is the ferret, since they can catch influenza from people.

    but as for your pet being ill with a cold, no, you can't catch it...nor can they get sick from you. (your vet will back this up if you ask. we get that question quite often at our clinic.)

Probably not since they're a different species, unless you suddenly develop allergies or something, but still thats not catching a cold from them.  If your dog, cat, or any other pet is sick you should take them to a vet immediately though!!!!  Common colds aren't really a huge deal for humans but for animals it could be really harmful!  =/

    So no, I'm pretty sure you wouldn't get sick if your pet was sick.
