  1. Both. I volunteer with a group because I really care, it gives me something to do that makes a difference, and makes me feel good. Is that wrong? I also donate money because I care and it makes me feel good. I also research the organizations I donate to so I know that the money is being used appropriately.

  2. It's both. We are hard wired in our genes to be somewhat altruistic.

  3. dunno, but does it really matter??As long as its getting done, who cares why, right?

  4. hopefully its both!

  5. It can go both ways depending on the person.

  6. They probably feel better because they really care. The order can be reversed; because they feel better, they really care. There are a few who volunteer for socio-political reasons. The work gets done, so for those, who cares as the motive is generally apparent,  temporary and lacking enthusiasm.

  7. Both, when you do something good for someone it makes you feel good and when you feel good, you care !!

  8. Because they REALLY care and it makes them feel better. That's one of the benefits.

  9. I do it for both reasons!

  10. Both reasons apply..   It needs to be done and filling the need makes the doer feel good... every one is happy..

  11. In most of the cases, B o t h are true !

Even, if one keep them happy and satisfied,

    Volunteer Community is G R E A T E S T of all.

  12. HOnestly..... whichever "REASON" they do it - or maybe others, one brings about the other in the end.  WHen you are helping, serving, giving service to people because you care it automatically  makes you feel good.  And, if you are doing it to make yourself feel good- the result will be that you CARE.  Unselfishness will bring about amazng and I think miraculous things in the doer and the receiver.   I always tell people to just BEGIN and the results will spawn boat-loads of additional positive outcomes that you never even imagined.  I call them 'blessings' personally but no matter what you call them it's truly amazing how volunteering, serving, helping others just makes us and the world around us a better place! There is no bad or wrong reason in my opinion.....
